Three Food Standards variations: processing aids in wine, dairy and sugar-containing foods

Commonwealth law

What the video says

Three Food Standards variations are on the register today. In plain English, all three cover processing aids: things used while making food, not ingredients. One: mushroom chitosan, to clarify and stabilise Australian wine. Two: a lipase enzyme, to break down fats in dairy and plant-based dairy products. Three: an enzyme called dextransucrase, to reduce sucrose and change texture in foods containing sugar. None has a fixed number limit, just good manufacturing practice. FSANZ found no safety concerns. Processing aids usually aren't listed on labels. The register counts them in force from today. The notices say they start at gazettal, noted as the twenty-ninth. Do you read labels for how food is made?

The voiceover, as written in the video’s script.
