What the video says
Queensland's Parliament has a Bill about fuel prices. It's the Transport Affordability Amendment Bill 2026.
The Opposition introduced it in February.
It would limit a servo's stated price to a rise of no more than 5 cents a litre from one day to the next.
Retailers would report next-day prices by 2pm.
And the Government would need a vote in Parliament, with 28 days' notice, before the 50 cent fares could go up.
Where's it at? A committee has reported, and the Bill now waits on a second reading.
It's a private member's Bill, so the Government controls whether that happens.
Labor says the LNP is set to block it. I couldn't find a Government statement on it.
I'm in New South Wales, so I'm watching this one from the outside.
Should daily fuel price rises be capped?
